The Indo-Qatar business pact in a wide array of sectors has been a historic success. It is still steadily growing and providing a powering framework to business agreements, exclusively supported by the two countries' governments at the highest levels. Alike India, Qatar is rich in a diverse population where almost 700,000 Indians reside. As per data reported by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), there are more than 6000 small and big Indian companies with successful businesses. Qatar's famous Indian community contribution is boarded as an important merge for Qatar's progress, which has sworn friendship and fast-paced the multilateral business exchange between India and Qatar. The 6000 Indian companies operating in Qatar have an investment close to US $450 million in the middle-east land.
Last year, the External Affairs Minister of India, Honorable S Jaishankar visited Qatar and expressed the investment possibilities in India to the Qatar Ministry, at the same time communicating about the promising commitment of strengthening the partnership pipeline between India and Qatar.
The External Affairs Minister said he highly regards the commitment shown by the countries to strengthen the business partnership and advocated the business opportunities that arise with the `Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. S Jaishankar also grained gratitude to the QCCI and QBA (Qatari Businessmen Association) Chairpersons Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Faisal and emphasized the historical connections between India and Qatar, when Gujarat maintained the ever-important door for commerce and contacts. During that time, the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani communicated over telephone thrice for increasing the highlights on the important business factors.
